Apt installer flags and constants

Reported by Ben Schwarz | February 20th, 2009 @ 11:19 PM

Just keeping some notes of issues with the current implementation of the apt flags and constants:

They do not work with Debian (any release I've tried) Ubuntu dapper also fails with DEBCONF_TERSE=yes: command not found

As it stands, the current command is DEBCONF_TERSE='yes' DEBIAN_PRIORITY='critical' DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive apt-get -qyu install build-essential

I think that this link may help with the DEBIAN_PRIORITY and DEBIAN_FRONTEND options: http://forum.soft32.com/linux2/a...

I'm unsure about DEBCONF_TERSE though.

    Hi Ben,

I've just applied a patch into crafterm/sprinkle master that fixes this particular issue, which I'll roll into the next Sprinkle release this weekend (will be 0.3.0).

Should be all fine now for Debian support.

Sprinkle is a software provisioning tool you can use to build remote servers with, after the base operating system has been installed. For example, to install a Rails or Merb stack on a brand new slice directly after its been created.
